Initially started in 2019 as a social experiment hidden inside a high school club in Southern California, Rambler! is a reason to get off your phone and engage with physical community media. It is for anyone who doesn’t want to live their lives behind a series of screens, and folks looking for alternatives to monopolized entertainment platforms. We believe art should be abundant, accessible, and algorithm free.
Why to Subscribe
This is an experiment in offline creative collaboration – through paper flyers, print publishing, collage workshops, zine release events, interdisciplinary showcases, and IRL experiments in presence. With a small base of subscribers, we can continue to support our team, our collaborators, and distribute quarterly publishing capsules without worrying about our profit margins. Help keep us sustainable, affordable, and expansive.
How it Works
Get this zine as both proof of one-year subscription and the first drop in our quarterly publishing capsule.
As an international collective we fund at least one print project every season(zines, poetry books, photobooks, how-tos…) and host release shows near our hubs of activity. Contribute $30 or more to our fundraising efforts, and get this limited print zine with a card on the front which allows subscribers free entry to any events we host during the duration of their subscription. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on Rambler events and related happenings that cycle through our creative network.
How to throw a Rambler show:
Envision an interdisciplinary art show
(art and music, music and cinema, open mic, repair workshop, etc)
Find a date
Pitch a lineup or bring us a bill
Find a venue or we can help
Make sure the flyer says no phones or no photos
Advertise offline – we can arrange paper flyers
Bring film and/or VHS cameras (optional)
